To ensure that your baby is sleepy during your photoshoot, I recommend keeping your baby awake for a few hours before your scheduled session. It is helpful to also feed your baby right before the session. A well-fed baby will be more content and cooperative during the photoshoot. It is normal for babies to have both awake and asleep periods. I will follow their cues and plan what we do accordingly.

Neutrals and earth tones are best for family portraits. Avoid busy patterns and logos. This will help keep the focus on your baby and create timeless images that capture love & connection.

To make your experience unforgettable I offer personalized sessions that cater to your family's unique style. Newborn sessions can take place either in studio or in your home.

If you select to book a session in studio, props are provided. Studio newborn sessions are more traditional and posed. The studio will be kept nice and toasty. This creates a comfortable environment for your baby.

Request a specific colour palette or send me a photo of your baby's nursery to use as inspiration. Studio sessions include a mix of wrapped, prop and family portraits. I will plan multiple set-ups for you. Dress your baby in a sleeper that can easily be unbuttoned or unzipped without having to pull it over their head so we can get started as soon as you arrive. I photograph family and sibling poses first. Please make arrangements for your other children to leave with an adult when we are finished the family portraits.

If you select to book a lifestyle newborn session, the photoshoot will take place in your home. Posing is minimal. I will focus on documenting candid moments of you with your baby- family portraits, details, baby's nursery, etc. without the use of props. I recommend picking an area in your home with good natural light for the session to take place.
